1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Shades of Black: Soul Maps ("Soul Maps"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

2. Description of Service

Soul Maps is a community safety and navigation platform designed to serve the Black community. Features include safe route planning, missing person reporting, emergency SOS, community forums, and discovery of Black-owned businesses and cultural spots.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Soul Maps offers a free tier and a premium subscription. Premium subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods.

5. Community Content

By posting content (forum posts, missing person reports, business listings, safe stops), you grant Soul Maps a non-exclusive license to display and distribute that content within the platform. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of content you submit. You must not post false, misleading, or harmful information.

6. Missing Person Reports

Missing person reports are subject to admin review and verification. Submitting false or fraudulent missing person reports is strictly prohibited and may result in account termination and legal liability.

7. Emergency Features Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: Soul Maps' SOS and emergency features are supplemental tools and are NOT a replacement for calling 911 or local emergency services. In any life-threatening emergency, always contact official emergency services first. Soul Maps does not guarantee response times or outcomes for emergency alerts.

8. Prohibited Conduct

• Using the platform to harass, threaten, or harm others
• Submitting false emergency alerts or missing person reports
• Attempting to access accounts or data that are not yours
• Using the platform for any unlawful purpose

9. Limitation of Liability

Soul Maps is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to, reliance on route recommendations, safety ratings, or emergency features.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
